The SMT 924 Special flap disc grinding wheel owes its uncompromising aggressiveness, i.e. the speed of material removal, to the abrasive grain made of ceramic electrocorundum. These synthetic crystals are characterized not only by their high hardness. but also extremely high strength, i.e. resistance to breakage and cracking. The pointed grain with sharp edges wears out very slowly and sharpens itself. Using this highly efficient abrasive grain enables demanding edge grinding. Excellent effect thanks to the appropriate shape
The abrasive grain is evenly distributed over the fabric flaps. Thanks to the self-sharpening grain on the abrasive flaps, grinding is always carried out with fresh grain, so the grinding performance does not decrease. The flaps are attached to a plate made of special glass fabric. In addition to the necessary high resistance, the flaps ensure that the forces are transferred to the workpiece without losses. This allows flexible surface processing. Thanks to their convex shape, the flap discs SMT 924 Special, which are available in different diameters, have a narrow working surface. In contrast to the straight version, they can be used especially for precise grinding of edges.

The SMT 924 Special flap discs can also be used on high-speed angle grinders (80 m/s). They enable the use of high pressure for maximum grinding performance. The grinding effect does not change until the flap disc is completely worn out.
