Fibre disc FS 764 ACT – fibre disc for collecting large amounts of material when grinding steel and stainless steel
The FS 764 ACT from Klingspor is a fibre disc for grinding steel and stainless steel. This fibre disc enables high-performance grinding. The abrasive material is electrocorundum. The bond according to the special ACT formula from Klingspor ensures high grain adhesion, which together with the fibre backing creates an extremely resistant abrasive material. Advantages:

This solid combination of backing, bond and grain enables aggressive grinding of metal during rust removal, rough grinding, processing of welds and during smoothing. In order not to exceed the maximum speed of 80 meters per second, the maximum permissible speeds depending on the disc and backing disc diameter must be observed:

13,300 rpm for a diameter of 115 mm
12,200 rpm for a diameter of 125 mm
8,500 rpm for a diameter of 180 mm
Application of FS 764 ACT fiber discs
The FS 764 ACT fiber disc is available in a wide range of grain sizes. The FS 764 ACT fiber disc is primarily designed for aggressive grinding and large stock removal.

The backing disc used has a decisive influence on the grinding pattern.

Klingspor offers two different backing discs for fiber discs: the ST 358 backing disc, medium-hard and smooth, and the ST 358 A backing disc, hard and ribbed. The selected backing disc has a decisive influence on the grinding pattern. To achieve an even grinding pattern, a medium-hard backing pad is recommended, for example for rounding edges or for finishing metal surfaces. A hard ribbed backing pad is designed for rough to aggressive grinding, for example for breaking edges, chamfering or rough smoothing.
