Fiber disc FS966 ACT
Klingspor FS 966 ACT – a very aggressive fibre disc for processing stainless steel
The FS 966 ACT fibre disc from Klingspor is suitable even for heavy-duty work. It is used for grinding stainless steel and is characterised by
high aggressiveness,
long service life
microcrystalline self-sharpening effect
. It also has a multi-bond that prevents the formation of tarnish colours. The fibre discs are available in various sizes and grain sizes.
Aggressive and durable: self-sharpening ceramic corundum
With the FS 966 ACT fibre disc from Klingspor, you can achieve good grinding results over a long period of time, because the high aggressiveness is maintained throughout the entire period of use. The high stock removal rate is achieved thanks to ceramic corundum, a sharp, pointed grain that is very hard and durable. Ceramic corundum also has self-sharpening properties due to its microcrystalline structure. The blunted edge of the grain breaks off and reveals a new sharp edge. This self-sharpening effect ensures the fibre disc has a long service life. The coating on the FS 966 ACT fibre disc is closed (full) and the abrasive grain covers almost the entire surface of the disc. The full coating further increases the service life and ensures ideal grinding results on stainless steel. Another special feature of this disc is the excellent adhesion of the grain resulting from the use of synthetic resin to bond the grain to the substrate. Compared to natural binders, it has better adhesion and is also very durable.
No tarnish thanks to the multi binder
The reduction in grinding temperature in the case of the FS 966 ACT fibre disc is due to the use of a multi layer. This layer creates an additional coating on the abrasive material. It reduces the temperature at the grain tips and the tendency for chips from the ground workpiece to stick to the abrasive coating. In this way, no discolouration due to high temperatures occurs when grinding stainless steel. In addition, the life of the disc is increased, resulting in reduced wear of abrasive materials.
