NRO 500 – Non-woven Sanding Roll for Finishing and Smoothing Surfaces
The NRO 500 non-woven sanding roll is designed for adding texture to detailed surfaces. The nylon non-woven material is coated with silicon carbide grain. The binder is a synthetic resin. Its three-dimensional structure makes this material highly flexible. It can be used for a variety of sanding methods, including dry sanding, water sanding, mild cleaning agents, and other liquids, as well as oil sanding.
Non-woven abrasives are suitable for removing small burrs from metals, such as stainless steel. They can also be used for wood and plastics. Using non-woven material allows for a smooth, even surface finish.
Versatile Applications
The NRO 500 non-woven fabric roller is suitable for cleaning, leveling, matting, and roughening, removing tarnish from metal, finishing, refining surfaces, and removing fibers from wood. Its open structure is a beneficial feature, preventing the non-woven fabric from becoming clogged with dust. Sanding with traditional sandpaper can clog the material with dust from the workpiece being sanded. This can reduce sanding efficiency.
For Hand and Machine Sanding
Hand sanding is primarily used in hard-to-reach areas, such as undercuts, complex geometries, meshes, and tubular profiles. For processing convex surfaces, profiles, and curves, the NRO 500 non-woven fabric roller can be mounted on special sanding bases. For sanding flat surfaces, finishing, and cleaning, this material can also be used on orbital sanders. This reduces processing time and achieves a uniform surface texture.
The Klingspor NRO 500 non-woven roll is available in Medium to Ultra Fine grades.
