SMT 850 plus Special – flap discs for stainless steel
The SMT 850 plus Special grinding wheels are unbeatable tools when it comes to processing TIG welds. The special version as a KOMBI flap disc is a high-performance tool, as it can perform grinding and finishing at the same time. It is designed for processing stainless steel. The SMT 850 plus Special grinding wheels, designed for professional users, can be used wherever weld processing is required after TIG welding, for example in metalworking workshops, after pipe welding or in the production of apparatus and devices. For roughing and finishing
During TIG welding, i.e. "tungsten inert gas welding", stainless steel is melted with an electric arc from a tungsten electrode and welded in an inert gas shield. The welds that are created can be optimally smoothed using the KOMBI flap disc grinding wheel. Due to their design, the flaps ensure both the necessary material removal and precise surface smoothing. A tool change is therefore not necessary. This reduces time and costs. The SMT 850 plus Special grinding wheels are not only extremely practical, but also very economical thanks to their long service life (use period).

Two tools in one
A special feature of the SMT 850 plus Special grinding wheels is their design with two different abrasive materials. One is a highly flexible fabric substrate to which electrocorundum is applied, and the other is a fleece. The KOMBI flap disc grinding wheel is therefore a combination of soft grinding with high aggressiveness. The processing performance is constant throughout the service life, because the abrasive material constantly exposes fresh grains. The finishing work carried out simultaneously by the fleece is characterised by a consistently high quality throughout the tool's service life. Thanks to their convex design, these tools are particularly suitable for precise local use. The base is made of a special glass fabric with high break resistance and durability. The design of the flap discs allows for even transfer of forces to the workpiece.

Safety and reliability in everyday work
A special manufacturing process ensures excellent bonding between the flaps and the base of the SMT 850 plus Special grinding discs. As a result, their parameters exceed the requirements of the safety standard EN 13743 and the oSa guidelines.
