Bee Day and Beneficial Insects at Marcopol – small actions, big impact for nature

To mark the Great Day of Bees, celebrated every year on 8 August, Marcopol is launching another pro-environmental initiative. This is not just a symbolic gesture but a real step towards protecting biodiversity and building environmental awareness in our community.

New homes for pollinators

Two insect hotels have just appeared on our premises to support the lives of wild bees, ladybirds and other pollinators:

  • The first is located by the so-called “Marcopol Feeder,” opposite the security building.
  • The second is mounted on a tree at the exit from the customer car park of our store, next to the second feeder.

These structures provide safe shelter and nesting sites for insects that do crucial everyday work for us—pollinating plants, regulating pest populations and supporting natural ecosystem processes.

A company wildflower meadow is coming

We’re going a step further—soon we plan to sow a wildflower meadow on one of our plots. Such an area is not only a beautiful splash of colour but, above all, lasting support for biodiversity. Wildflower meadows are known to attract pollinators, improve soil water retention and help stabilise the microclimate of industrial sites.

Small changes, big effect

Environmental initiatives are an integral part of our sustainability strategy. We believe corporate responsibility doesn’t end with the product—it also means caring for people and the planet.

The Great Day of Bees is a perfect occasion to remember how important even the smallest creatures are to our ecosystem. Through joint initiatives, we can genuinely improve the quality of our environment—locally, with commitment and respect for nature.
