Self-drilling screws are among the most reliable and versatile fasteners available on the market. Thanks to their unique design and functionality, significant time and efficiency gains are achieved during assembly work. Regardless of the level of experience, these screws are intuitive to use and offer a wide range of applications. Below, we discuss the main features and benefits of using them.

Use in various materials

Self-drilling screws are universal tools that allow for the connection of different types of materials. Their specifications can vary to match the specific needs associated with the material intended for assembly – from plastics, through metals, to concrete and wood. Some models feature special tips that facilitate the assembly of profiled and layered sheets. This is especially important when installing facades or roofing elements.

Examples of such self-drilling screws from our offer are our self-drilling screws for sheet metal and facades.

Speed and efficiency of assembly

The high functionality of self-drilling screws makes them the perfect solution for jobs requiring speed and precision, such as the assembly of ventilation ducts. In this situation, screws with a flat bottom head are often used, further ensuring connection stability.

An example of such self-drilling screws from our offer are our self-drilling sandwich panel screws.

Resistance to atmospheric conditions

One of the key advantages of self-drilling screws is their ability to create tight connections. This reduces the risk of moisture penetration, which could adversely affect the material structure and weaken the connection strength. If necessary, these screws can also be easily removed. This is important if, for various reasons, disassembly or relocation of construction elements is required.

An example of such self-drilling screws from our offer are our self-drilling farmer screws.

Availability and manufacturer support

The production and distribution of self-drilling screws are handled by reputable companies, such as our company, Marcopol. The offer includes screws intended for various materials, including those with a soft structure, such as layered boards or softwood.

Self-drilling screws are fastening elements that offer significant benefits for both professionals and those with less assembly experience. Their versatility, ease of use, and reliability make them one of the most sought-after fasteners in many fields of construction and other industrial sectors. Thanks to them, the assembly becomes not only faster but also more effective.

Development and innovation are key elements in the automotive world. Marcopol Screw Manufacturer: An Established Supplier of Fasteners in the European Market

Marcopol Screw Manufacturer is a renowned supplier of fastening elements to the European market. Wood screws are a key product category in the company’s assortment. The broad range of wood screws includes various types of construction screws, carpentry connectors, and nails.

Marcopol’s Wood Screw Offer: A General Overview

In the wood screw offer, customers will find a rich palette of construction screws. Among them are both standard and stainless steel wood screws, including the following:

  • Hardened screws with universal application,
  • Construction screws for exotic wood,
  • Hex head screws,
  • Screws with thread on part of the shank,
  • Screws with washers and recesses,
  • Cylinder head screws,
  • Distance screws with conical heads,
  • Screws for mounting wooden decks.

All these screws allow for durable connections, and many of them are used as typical carpentry wood screws. In addition to the most popular screws, Marcopol also offers self-drilling wood screws and connectors that allow for work on elements made from other materials.

Standard Wood Screws

The offer of typical screws for connecting wooden elements (in standard execution) includes eight basic product categories described below.

  • Universal hardened wood screws with conical, underhead and cylindrical heads. Depending on market needs, the screws are available in two thread versions – full and partial, and in yellow or white zinc. The very wide dimensional offer starts from the size Ø 2.5.
  • UHS construction screws belong to the family of construction screws and have a building certification. Their application is very broad, both in the furniture industry and in skeletal construction.
  • Wood screws with a hexagonal head with a thread on part of the shank. These are screws that meet the requirements of DIN 571 and PN-M 82501~ standards. The range of available diameters starts from the size Ø 6 mm at a total length of 40 mm (head diameter 10 mm), and ends at the size Ø 12 mm at a total length of 300 mm with a head diameter of 19 mm. These screws are covered with white zinc and are suitable for wood-to-wood and wood-to-metal connections. The large surface area of their heads ensures the correct pressure of the mounted element, and the incomplete thread prevents cracks in the mounting element and ensures its correct pressure.
  • Wood screws with a hexagonal head with a washer with a thread on part of the shank. These are screws covered with white zinc, suitable for wood-to-wood connections. The range of diameters has been limited to Ø 6 mm with total lengths of 40 / 45 / 60 and 75 mm (head diameter 13 mm). In their case too, the large surface area of their head, reinforced with a washer, ensures the correct pressure of the mounted element, while the incomplete thread is designed to prevent cracks in the mounting element.
  • Wood screws with a cylindrical head with a hexagonal recess. These are screws covered with yellow or white zinc, available in one diameter Ø 6.5 mm with a total length from 40 mm to 110 mm (head diameter 15 mm) and with a socket for a 4 mm hex key. Here too, the thread is incomplete, and the screws themselves are suitable for wood-to-wood connections.
  • Long screws for wooden structures with a conical, underhead and hexagonal head with a washer and a TX socket. In the case of these screws, users deal with yellow zinc and diameters in the range Ø 8.0 – 10.0 mm with total lengths of 140 – 400 mm. These screws have an incomplete thread, behind which there is a small self-drilling section for easier insertion of the non-threaded part into the wood and to prevent cracking in the material.
  • Distance screws with a conical head. Their task is to make connections of wooden elements while maintaining a distance between them. They are available in size Ø 6.0 mm with total lengths from 60 to 140 mm and are covered with white zinc.
  • Screws for mounting deck boards. They are mainly intended for the installation of external wooden decks and vertical facade cladding. These screws have a double thread, with the lower thread allowing for attachment to the substrate, and the upper thread has a reverse winding direction, which reduces the tightening moment necessary for attachment. The conical shape of the screw head is used to mask the fixing in the substrate, a special HCP’coat protective coating (based on nanotechnology) provides high corrosion resistance for screws exposed to external atmospheric conditions. These screws are recommended for fixing e.g. spruce, pine, cedar, mahogany, oak, or maple, as well as composite materials. The offer includes Ø 5 mm in total lengths from 40 to even 80 mm, each time in different color shades.
