Knowing from experience the scope of responsibilities for a purchaser of C-parts, we are well aware of how challenging it is to manage this process. You need to meet the requirements of your own department while also fulfilling the expectations of production and management.
Part C components are incredibly important but often underestimated. Even if, as a procurement specialist, you consistently deliver the necessary C-parts in the right time and quantity, your work may go unnoticed. It’s only when part availability decreases and prices rise that everyone starts paying attention to you, and the procurement department is blamed for supply chain disruptions and production delays, which, of course, come at a cost.
Our company, Marcopol, as a supplier of C-parts, understands these challenges and strives to meet them. In our upcoming posts, we will present you with services and methods that enable effective management, ordering, and cost savings not only on C-parts but also on all fastening elements.
Challenges You Face as a Purchasing Department Employee
Marcopol emphasizes the benefits of consolidating suppliers of C-parts. If you have to deal with 20 or 30 suppliers, each with their own contact, ordering process, and logistics, you are faced with a lot of repetitive and painstaking work. It is not efficient to handle all that administration when, with the help of our company Marcopol, you can consolidate suppliers and obtain all the necessary C-parts faster and more efficiently.
The consequences of using a dispersed pool of suppliers can be significant, posing a serious challenge for those responsible for purchasing in manufacturing companies. However, if your company already has a relatively consolidated supplier base, these may not be the challenges you have to deal with.
Your challenges may be different and related to the level of service you receive from your current supplier. It’s good to have a supplier who has a vision and understanding of your business, needs, and the challenges of your production – not only now but also in the future. Without a developing partner, you may have difficulty adjusting and expanding your C-parts activities as your company’s needs change. Solutions offered by Marcopol, such as consignment stocks like IDEA, allow for quick response to changing conditions in which our business partners operate.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) You Need to Meet
The challenges described above are just some of the ones you will have to deal with in your role as a procurement specialist. In addition to them, there are several key performance indicators by which you are evaluated. One of them, of course, is KPI.
In the context of your work and your Procurement Department, KPIs can include various aspects of the process, such as:
-
- Delivery Time – how long the process takes from ordering to goods delivery.
-
- Order Fulfillment Accuracy – the percentage of deliveries that precisely match the order in terms of quantity and quality.
-
- Procurement Costs – the total costs associated with procurement, including transportation, warehousing, management, etc.
-
- Inventory Turnover Ratio – how often a company is able to sell and replace its entire inventory within a specified period.
-
- Order Fulfillment Rate – how often orders are fulfilled on time.
-
- Material Consumption – monitoring the efficiency of material utilization.
By partnering with our company, you no longer have to worry about the results – our team of experts always works towards providing the highest quality services and products that bring tangible benefits. Our mission is to help you achieve your business goals with ease.
How to improve the supply of C-parts?
The key to success is building strong and reliable relationships with suppliers. These relationships, especially in a post-pandemic world, allow suppliers to better understand the company’s needs, enabling them to act proactively and introduce improvements and changes ahead of time, on their own initiative, rather than simply focusing on ad-hoc task completion.
Marcopol, as an experienced supplier of C-parts, is a crucial partner in this regard. Through close collaboration and understanding of your needs, we are able to provide not only products but also know-how, helping to transform your challenges and problems into successes.
Marcopol is here to assist you with that. We invite you to collaborate with us!
We received the award in the category of “Construction Fasteners”.
The “Construction Brand of the Year” ranking is an annual research project undertaken by ASM, which allows for the identification of building material brands and general contractors that enjoy the highest level of customer trust.
Choosing the right screws and carpentry connectors is a key element of every construction project, as it affects the strength and load capacity of wooden structures. Marcopol company from Chwaszczyno offers a wide range of screws and carpentry connectors, which allows us to choose the appropriate connections of load-bearing elements in wooden structures.
In this article, we will discuss the factors that should be considered when choosing screws for wooden structures, available in the offer of Marcopol company.
The design of various types of wooden structures should be carried out in accordance with the guidelines that can be found in the Eurocode 5 standard (EN 1995). It contains principles and requirements for design, considering its safety and durability.
Type of material we want to connect.
Depending on the type of wood from which the structure is made, it may be necessary to use different types of screws. Hardwoods, such as oak or ash, are harder than softwood, like pine or spruce.
Marcopol offers connectors dedicated to various types of wood and wood-based materials. In terms of wood, we connect solid, laminated or glued products. Standardly, for connections of solid wood elements, we use construction screws. In the case of wood-based materials, our connectors can be used for plywood, OSB chipboards, furniture chipboards, and chipboard-cement.
Key elements of carpentry connectors. Strength and atmospheric requirements
Wooden structures may have different strength requirements depending on their use and the loads they are subjected to. Marcopol’s offer includes screws of various diameters and lengths, which will allow to achieve the appropriate strength of the connection.
Construction screws can be exposed to various weather conditions, such as humidity, rain, or UV radiation. As Marcopol, we produce screws made of corrosion-resistant steel (stainless steel) and ordinary steel, protecting them with special coatings with high corrosion resistance.
The connectors available in Marcopol’s offer can be used in two usage classes. The first one is characterized by the moisture content of the material corresponding to a temperature of 20 °C and the relative humidity of the surrounding air exceeding 65% only for a few weeks a year.
Class 2 is characterized by the moisture content of the material corresponding to a temperature of 20 C and the relative humidity of the surrounding air exceeding 85% only for a few weeks a year. The highest – class 3 requires the use of a protective coating with higher anti-corrosion parameters.
Aesthetic requirements for carpentry connectors
Depending on the project, carpentry screws can be visible on the outside of the structure or hidden. Marcopol offers screws with various surface finishes, which not only protect against corrosion but also determine the appearance of a given structure. Speaking of aesthetics, it is impossible not to mention the basic types of construction screws available in our offer. We offer countersunk and washer head screws. The former will be perfect if you are looking for a solution that allows for countersinking the screw head with the surface of a given element.
Screws with washer heads achieve higher load-bearing capacities on head pull-out. If aesthetic values are not decisive, then it is worth using these screws because the connection will achieve a higher load capacity which in turn affects the number of connectors. We use these screws where there is no need to countersink the screw head with the plane of the wooden element.
Summary
Choosing the right carpentry screws for a specific application requires considering many factors. Marcopol from Chwaszczyno offers a wide range of screws that can be adapted to the type of wood, strength requirements, atmospheric conditions, and user preferences.
